I’ve been reading Thich Nhat Hanh‘s “primer” on Buddhism, and thinking about store consciousness – what in Western psychology would be termed “background consciousness.”
I think this poem by Rumi speaks to this:
in bloomI feel like the ground, astonished
at what the atmosphere has brought to it. What I knowis growing inside me.
(Thanks to Kozi Wolf for the poem. And for what it’s worth, I found an interesting article on “Consciousness and Quantum Physics” by Hanh.)
